Beta Team Wears Red for British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation is the nation's heart charity and the largest independent funder of cardiovascular research. Coronary heart disease is the UK's single biggest killer but they are leading the fight against it. Their pioneering research has helped to transform the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions. Their work has been central to the discoveries of vital treatments that are helping to change the face of the UK's fight against heart disease.
A vision for a better future
Their vision is a world where people don't die prematurely from heart disease. They'll continue the fight through their pioneering heart research, vital prevention and survival activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease.
50 years fighting heart disease
The British Heart Foundation were founded in 1961 by a group of medical professionals wanting to fund extra research into the causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of heart and circulatory disease. After half a century of extraordinary scientific and societal progress they have helped to transform the landscape of heart disease.
The fight for every heartbeat
The British Heart Foundation’s research is powered by public support. Every pound raised, every minute of time and every donation to our shops helps make a massive difference to people’s lives.
About Wear it Beat it
One in four of our loved ones are lost to heart and circulatory disease, so on 6 February BHF asked the nation to show their support by wearing red and hosting an event to fund their life-saving research. Beta stepped up to the challenge, dug out their red clothes and baked delicious red cakes to raise money for BHF. A thoroughly fund day was had by all and we raised over £100 for British Heart Foundation.
