At the end of Feburary, we were visited by young Jacob, aged 8, who is on a mission to fill 1000 backpacks filled with essential items for distribution to the homeless in and around Essex.
His quest is to achieve this by the time he is 10 years old.
We were so inspired by his story that we held a fundraising day, hosted by Beta Pharmaceuticals, and raised £500!
A huge thank you to all the staff at Beta Pharmaceuticals who donated through cakes and other bakes; the money went a long way in helping the homeless during the bitter cold weather.
In just under a year and a half, Jacob and his small team have managed to pack and distribute a total of 350 backpacks already and we are sure that he will reach his target in time! Jacob is not at all camera shy and we are delighted to hear that he has recently featured on The One Show and BBC Essex Radio; getting the attention he deserves for such an incredible and inspiring story.
We wish Jacob all the luck in the world for the remainder of his mission!
