sufra - stronger together
BCT are thrilled to be working alongside our partners Sufra, match funding for their Stronger Together campaign, providing beneficiaries with food parcels/hot meal delivery services.
Your kind donations allowed 648 parcels to be delivered.
hand on heart - spring homeless campaign
BCT are extremely proud to continue to support Hand on Heart with their homeless campaigns. A record breaking 1,700 spring essential packs were assembled and distributed to vulnerable groups including homeless, asylum seekers and refugees, including Ukrainians.
Each bag was filled with essential items, and in addition, sleeping bags and hundreds of blankets were handed out at the outreach drives.
As the bags were delivered during Easter and Eid, volunteers were able to hand out Easter Eggs and freshly baked cookies which was a very welcomed treat that bought many smiles.
BCT and HoH also provided 200 welcome/support packs for the people of Ukraine.

water wells
Due to temperamental weather conditions, it is becoming increasingly difficult to rely on rainfall to ensure a regular and healthy harvest. Beta Charitable Trust are super excited to be supporting our partners Kijana Kwanza in building a deep well in the Shabaha district, approximately 30 mins from Moshi Town, Tanzania. Kijana purchased a 5.5 acre plot to enable them to grown as much of their own food as possible, feeding children and young people at their shelter. This well will enable the team to plan an efficient growing schedule. Once complete, water from the well will also be available free of charge to local people and subsistence farmers.

We are delighted to let you know that so far this year, 14 water wells and 2 water tanks have been commissioned and are being built.
eye camps
Cataracts is the leading cause of blindness worldwide, and BCT are committed to supporting our partners on the ground with their mobile eye camps.
We are pleased to let you know that throughout April, May and June BCT have sponsored another 32 eye camps, resulting in just over 1300 surgeries being carried out.

yemen crisis
BCT are continuing to support Yemen through our partnership with CAI and has pledged to continue to donate $12,000 every month for baby milk and food parcels.
manakara school project
Education is a vital part of building vibrant, equal and sustainable communities.
BCT are incredibly proud to be working alongside our partners, CAI in building a first class modern school in Manakara, Madagascar. This area has several remote villages where there are no schools. Poor children remain unschooled due to poverty, and unavailable education opportunities. Students must relocate to major cities for elementary/higher education and live in hostels. This school will provide a dorm for 140 poor students, and living quarters for 140 orphans. Images below show the orphans the school will benefit and the building work starting, stay tuned for further updates on this exciting project!
